Maryland - This solo
practice is in an affluent urban area at the heart of
booming construction. After being a full time
practice for many years, six years ago I started working
part time (about 18 hours a week) because I started working
at FDA (Food and drug administration)-a passion of
mine. This part time practice generates about
$340,000 a year, with very little HMO
involvement. 3 exam rooms, 1300 sq. feet; over
25,000 active charts. Charts inactive for 4 years have
routinely been discarded to make room for new ones.
For 18 hours a
week, gross income (on paper) $231,000 personal
income after expenses, before taxes (on paper) 110 k. Does
not include dispensing of products. Overgross Gross
estimated to $360,000 (on paper and otherwise).
Staff: 2 employees, each working 30 hours a
week. Expect staff will stay but cannot guarantee it;
might depend on whether they like the new doc or
not. There is room for 2
physicians. I do not know what PAs get paid
here, I assume $50,000-80,000. Never get a
malpractice litigated against me.
All equipment included.
Payor mix: 25% medicare, 2% medicaid (accepted only
when together with
medicare), 10% HMO, 50% PPO, rest is cash basis
This area probably has over 600,00 people and is very
actively growing. Asking $180,000.
Financing and price negotiable. If the buyer wishes, I
can stay for some time or leave
immediately.
Gross
income 2006 was $600,000 plus; increased in 2007.
Asking $200K; ($175K
if buy soon). The practice operates under “two heads”: ALL
HOURS DOCTOR (thus suitable as an urgent care facility) and
also as ANTI-AGING MEDICINE. Seventy-five percent of
services are collected at time of service; twenty-five
percent paid by Hawaii health insurance companies where the
reimbursement is excellent. The practice also
has exclusive agreements with various four star hotels in
Maui for medical service coverage for their guests.
Patients of all ages children and adults are seen for
medical care at the office and hotels. The practice
also caters to very wealthy high end executives,
celebrities in politics and famous entertainment and movie
Stars.
There is a heavy focus on Anti-Aging Medicine evaluations
including DNA damage analysis and repair; biochemical
profiles including markers for methylation, glycation,
inflammation and oxidation; hormonal evaluation and
possible need for bioidentical hormones, HGH and
testosterone; cancer markers; Alzheimer’s markers;
cardiovascular workups; weight and fat loss programs;
fitness exercise programs. Cosmetic Dermatology
services include Foto Facial Intense Pulse Light;
Photodynamic Therapy with Levulan; Chemical Peels; Fillers
with Collagen, Restylane, Radiesse, Sculptra; Botox;
Therapeutic Facials; Microdermabrasion. Patients with
acne, acne scars, deep wrinkles and lines; aging sun
damaged skin; brown spots; Rosacea; irregular pigmentation
are treated.
Additional focus is on “Future Medicine- Now.” This
involves my seeing patients with very serious problems that
are potential candidates for gene therapy, embryonic stem
cells and tissue engineering. I consult with these patients
and then arrange their treatments in available clinical
trials in USA, Central America, Europe and Dubai. I
am interested in devoting myself fully to stem cell and
gene therapy research at this time. Therefore, this is an
opportune time for some physician to take over a fun and
fascinating practice with flexible terms.
Illinois - (not Chicago) practice and building for
sale. This a
great building (built to last 100 years or more) in
Illinois. Internal Medicine or Urgent care.
Corner 6-year old Building/ 16 year old practice for
sale on Illinois Hwy 78. 4 hrs from lake Geneva;
2.5 hr from Chicago; 2.5 hrs S. of
Rockford. Two separate units 3000 sq
feet total; one roof; all l 1 floor; Main St
corner. It is Internal med but the only
urgent care is in Hospital ER and very expensive (Hospital
bills $500 minimum) for urgent care.
Two units under
one roof on one floor. She rented one out but it
could be converted to a lab. The rental portion
has separate 3 exam rooms; own A/C, furnace, telephone
system. 5,000 charts.
Electronic billing system;
no other office has electronic billing in town; will
stay to train/transition 1-2 days week. Has handicap
bath/halls and wide doors. No urgent care in
town, but there is an extreme need for it.
Four exam rooms
in main part; huge storage room could be converted.
Office could be 2 rooms instead of one; big office mgr
room. 6 exam rooms have sinks. One room
for procedures; one room used for echo/doppler
studies. Nice exam tables. Lunch room
micro/own bath/closet/refrigerator. Equipment -
will take or leave Spirometry; peripheral vascular studies
(measure blood flow in arteries/veins for clots).
echo
dopler (valve changes), Burbick EKG computerized
machine (best EKG machine). She could take some of
the equipment (test her heart). Hohn
real wood cabinets; walls very light blue; dark
blue carpet (specs); cabinets reddish brown; special doors
(2 hr fire proof); building fire proof; less
insurance. No competition if you want to make
it an urgent care. Could turn separate unit
into a lab. Parking in front and side - no meters.
Handicap parking on each side; about 20 spots. Staff has
parking behind and S. side. Office mgr draws
blood. Two full time employees now. The
doctor would work for you part time, but she does not
treat kids. She designed the building; others steal
ideas from her. She now works part
time. Patients would return; not happy with the
hospital ER; because they only see NP's and it is very
expensive.
Made $150-180,000 working part time last
year 2:30-8 PM and Sat 10-4 or 5 PM; was full time
before. She also sees some nursing home patients and
phone.
Selling high quality building. Asking
$585,000 for both the building and practice.
You could be
unbelievably successful. Town population
11,000; 50K population served.
